I am a regular in like six different chat rooms on Yahoo for different friends etc and want to be in all 6 at the same time.
I haven’t been able to log into more than one with the same ID at the same time so I got the multi patch and made extra IDs but if I try to log into chat with all of them Yahoo seems to boot me out.
Why and how do they do that because it can’t be by IP as we have a home network and all my roommates can be in chat together and we only have one IP?
Anyone have any idea how Yahoo does this and any way around it?

Download a chat client like YahElite, YahEh, or Y!Mlite and/or go into chat via Yahoo!’s website. Don’t log in too many IDs though or you can get an IP ban;)
Thanks Hedonist but as I said above, I don’t think it’s an IP ban as me and my roomates are all behind a single IP and we all use yahoo chat at the same time on like 5 different computers and don’t get banned :confused:
I just downloaded YahElite but I can’t figure out how to join multiple chats. 🙁
I don’t think you can do it without using a 3rd party client. Anyway, could someone tell me how to join multiple ones in YahElite?
You just need to open another instance of yahelite, you can do this easily by typing /fork in the chat window… I think you can only have 3 versions of it running, it used to be unlimited, but they changed that because people were using it for malicious purposes. Btw.. you need a different user name for each one.
Go to http://www.shiftthis.net/y-tools.htm , download the “Yahoo! Multi-Gold Loader for v6,0,0,1671 – (Created by blackpager)”. Install it properly ( follow the directions ). Restart your messenger and then sign in with different ids into the same chat room. I do that all the time, if I want to be in sum chat room in different ids.
