I did a bit of searching and couldnt find anything on the ads that yahoo displays before it enters the chat. I know ytunnel can somehow bypass these and automatically enter the chat. Does anyone know how I can do this manually?

April 30, 2004 at 7:01 pm #80528f0rbezMemberi tried that freddy and it didnt work for me. on that large ad it just refreshed and downloaded an ad and on the chat ads, it left a blank window there. I believe I posted something on your forum about it. im assuming your the one who owns that site.

June 20, 2004 at 8:02 pm #80530f0rbezMemberive tried pretty much everything to get those ads out. theyre like super hard coded into the program. most of the other ones can be easily fixed, with exception to the stupid phone banner.

Yeah, ad removal based on my info just removes the ad by pointing to a local file, it leaves the space. There is two reasons why this is good:
(1) messenger isn’t loading ads and using your connection – yahoo! started using flash ads which take longer to load
(2) some of the ads resized to half the screen, or if they couldn’t be found, they’d produce a full screen 404 with 2 lines of chat.In those cases, a small space in place of the ad didn’t matter. in 6, they realised a full 404 wasn’t good, and so if the file can’t be found, the space is hidden, and carbonize will do this, but still doesn’t fix your transition ad thing.
Y!Tunnel can fix that because it “hooks” into the messenger program while running, letting it inject code and listen to what’s going on.
I don’t know if anyone has tried looking in the program with a hex editor, maybe they can take it out. I haven’t looked.
June 24, 2004 at 5:54 am #80533f0rbezMemberdoes your ad removal get rid of the transistion ad though? last time I checked it wouldnt work for me. even when I removed the reference to the url in the exe it still loaded an ad. right now ive just used norton to block the servers.
