well sponge, first of all it would be helpful if u reduce ur signature size… ur post will always be smaller that ur signature lol!! nways i hardly use smileys!!! I dont know why, but prefer chatting w/o smileys

Depends on which IM I use, or who I’m talking to. But I tend to get out of hand from time to time with them on Yahoo.

I use smileys often, I can’t stand emoticons though.

🙂 = smiley.
🙂 = emoticon.

I’ll use them on AIM at the end of a sentence a lot of the time. I never use smileys if those = :). I use emoticons.

It all really depends on who i’m talking to when i’m using them. But i think i use them about half of the time

I use them alot when I’m chatting on yahoo and msn…but I kinda think aol’s emoticons are cheesy.

I guess it depends on the situation. If I need to convey an emotion or feeling then I’ll use a smiley/emoticon to help convey that emotion.

For the most part however, I only use them approximately 50% of the time.
