ParticipantMy .net passport is Canadian. Strange…
I enter my country as Canada the first time when just collecting information, but the second time when entering shipping information, it’s selected as US and is greyed out.
Is it entirely possible that as the website gathers the vitals, it’s also gathering machine information? (ie. OS, browser, versions etc.) As my laptop was bought in the States, and I brought it back up north with me. Seems a little far fetched to me…

Memberhrmm it worked for me and I live in Edmonton, on the Select a Country/Region: part I just hit Canada and State turned into province and zip code changed to postal code

ParticipantWell poop.
Graham, if you’ve already gotten yours, how big is it? 32MB? 64?

ParticipantI’m still waiting. We’ll see how it goes.

MemberYou know…knowing Microsoft, these are probably read-only. I don’t see what all the hype is about, really.

ParticipantSpike wrote:You know…knowing Microsoft, these are probably read-only. I don’t see what all the hype is about, really.I’ve been looking into buying a small USB key. I don’t have a printer, yet my laptop isn’t allowed on the network at school.
So when I have a paper to print, I have to burn it to a CD on my laptop, then pop it in one of the school lab computers. Most of the time I work at school, so emailing it to myself from home isn’t really an option either. It’s turning out to be a huge waste of CDs and money…
Even if it’s only 32MB, that’s more than enough to transfer a .doc file from laptop to the school computer, and if it’s free… 😮

ParticipantI know you’re looking for free (arn’t we all), but eBay has a pretty cheap list.
I found one for just under $5 (CDN). http://cgi.ebay.ca/Rare-Crestor-USB-32MB-Thumb-Drive_W0QQitemZ6266005258QQcategoryZ15911QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Ooh, great idea. I always buy from eBay, don’t know why it didn’t occur to me. Thanks Graham.

KeymasterI signed up for this a while back. I’ve seen this all over the internet and I’m certain not everyone that signed up will get one. That’d be a lot of dough and as Spike said, probably read-only.

MemberI wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it was read-only. Then again, what if it isn’t read-only? 😉
I signed up a few weeks ago, but I kind of forgot about it until I saw this thread again, so I mean it won’t be a big dissapointment to me if I dont get one.

Participantwell yes, but they should still ship out to the people who completed the offer before they ran out. i know things like this are bound to end quickly, but the people who did it before then are entitled to their free drive. i didn’t give them my shipping address just to get nothing.
