these are becoming more and more of a problem. i get them every time i sign on. is there a way to get rid of these without blocking everyone thats not on my buddy list?
I had the same problem at one time… it’s all due to the “Create a Profile – Searchable Directory” in My Aim > Edit Profile… Uncheck the “Allow People To Search For Me” box.. and that should do the trick… Well atleast it worked for me… Those clones search the directory and msg those who show up… by removing yourself from the directory you will no longer hear from Sandy the 19/f with her own website 🙂
My problem is the ones that pop up from the chat room, my whole thing is I have to block everyone. Then IM people from a different SN.
Well if you go into the AOL chatrooms, I’m not quite sure how you can avoid the spam IM’s… Since your name appears to the person that is running the clones, anyone have an answer to that?:confused:
If your going to go into public chats, I’d suggest using a different screen name to do that. That way only people that you want IM you.
