MemberBesides clicking on individual names in the room and ignoring them I don’t believe you can ignore “all” of those id’s unless you choose the preference to ignore anyone not on your friends list.

MemberI wish you could just type
/ignore *@sbcglobal.net
but I don’t think that would work.

MemberSay the id is username@sbcglobal.net you would copy and paste the whole id, not just username, and put that on your ignore list. You could also right click on their id in a chat room and ignore them. These names are made by people who get their internet thru yahoo, and instead of having just a username, they use the full email addy

MemberAre you asking because you have tried to ignore them and cant? I have lately come across some people I cant ignore. When in a room and there has been someone doing annoying things I right click and iggy them, it will say in text in the room that they are ignored BUT I still hear them! I have left chat rebooted Yahoo and even put them into Y!Tunnels Iggy Bin, only to still hear them! Anyone know if theres a program out that they are using which makes it so they cant be ignored? Many of my friends have come across this too.

MemberI have never come accross such a program myself, but I have seen many people tell me they just find it impossible to ignore some people. The Yahoo! server handles your ignore list, but Y!Tunnel’s ignore list is held locally on your pc, and stops incoming packets if its from a certain user.
Chat Clients work best at ignoring people, they take the username out of the packet, if its ignored, its not displayed, as simple as that!
As for voice chat, the muting is done server side by Yahoo! no matter if you are using Messenger or a client.
Im sure some of the clients will ignore certain IDs, I know YahELite has an option to ignore illegal IDs, which I think the @sbcglobal.com ones come under, because of the @ signs, even though they are made by Yahoo!.

MemberIf you ignore someone, can they still see you when you’re online?? Or besides preventing you from receiving their messages, does it also prevent them from seeing you online like MSN Messenger?? Can they PM you when you’re in games??

MemberEven if you ignore someone and your online indicator is posted on your profile they can see when you are online. From my experience with yahoo they cannot send you any messages, but say you are playing a yahoo game and you’re not running messenger – they can send you a message. Hope that makes sense and helps.

KeymasterYou can remove your profile from the Yahoo Memebers Directory and disable your online status indicator. Not displaying yourself as online that way, as well as in Games, and accepting PMs only from people on your friends list helps also.
