Hello,
How and is it possible to deactivate a yahoo email only but NOT my yahoo account? I know how to delete the account but that’s not what I want then I won’t have my messenger name anymore. I don’t even use my yahoo email.
Leave it inactive and don’t sign into mail for 30 to 90 days, and it’ll be inactive. Other than that, I don’t know of any other ways to force deactivate Yahoo! Mail for an account.
php111, why do you want to deactivate your Yahoo! email? Isn’t it just as easy to not check it?

Thank you guys. Yes everyone is right just don’t check it.
If an account is unactive for 30-90 days does it just disappear? Stupid question, I know.
No. If it’s inactive for several months, it gets recycled and someone else can register it.
If you want to delete your Yahoo! account(s), go to:
https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user
If you should decide to reuse your Yahoo! account(s), you can do this in 3 (or 6) months.
Yahoo Mail just goes into inactive mode if you don’t use it.
The e-mail address cannot be used by another user as it is reserved always for the account of the same name.
