Member*raises hand* I’ll make you a forum sig if you want. Just tell me how you want it, or give me an internet link on how you would like it to be. Then *poof* Here it is!

ParticipantYeah but then he’ll never learn how to do them himself. Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he’ll never be hungry sort of thing.

MemberI doubt you could fit an entire PSP or Fireworks tutorial into one post. You’d have to be there next to them teaching it to them. If all he wants is to have one, I volunteer. Otherwise, if he wants to learn, I pass.

ParticipantThere are tons of little tutorials to teach someone how to do a certain style for signitures so they can pick and choose what they want to impliment their signiture with and then afterward, if they want, they can go on to learn more.
As for your question, PSP is nice, Fireworks is…ok, and Photoshop is nice as well, but of course it cuts down to how much/if your willing to spend money on it, you ability to pirate (for you naughty people) or get a free version, and how complex you want the program. Also, I know that most programs worth their salt come with tutorials. Plus there’s always wonderful, spectacular Google to look for tutorials.
Basically though what it comes down to is just making a picture, have it hosted and stick the addy up on here with img tags. Heck, you could make a signiture with Paint if you wanted.
Edit: P.S. SphinX, I use Good-Tutorials often enough, good suggestion. Quality place, I say.

ParticipantTuts gave me a lot of the knowledge I know today about Photoshop… they work just fine. And posting “whole tuts” in a forum thread works just as good as well. Why would it not?

ParticipantThe best advice I can give for image software is to be curious. Touch every button, familaiarize yourself with the program. Tutorials are helpful to some people, but not all. I personally don’t find much help in tutorials, I want to be hands on and test out every little detail myself. It is a very slow process to get good, but really worth it in the end. See what works for you and experiment, I throw out more graphics than I keep.
Which program do you have? If you don’t have any I suggest searching Google for trial versions or either Photo Shop, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, or Fireworks. Test them out and see which one you like best. Good luck, imaging is a big world, but a mighty fun one 😉

More like give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish he’ll have one hell of an expensive hobby.

MemberWell I had no idea about Adobe Photoshop about one month ago. But then I started using it and getting online tutorials from the Adobe Photoshop website, and now I can confidently say that yes, I can do some kind of graphic art :p or atleast give my best shot. I am still learning. So its always adviced to take one software at one time and master it. Adobe photoshop tutorials from its website are cool. U might want to try that first to get an idea how things work. Then u might want to switch to fireworks and go thru more tutorials. Help urself, only then u can learn.

Memberwell as long as we’re discussin siggy’s where did all of you get those images in your sigs?
the wp things.November 21, 2004 at 3:33 am #105298neo_ny_23

the wp things. What images are u talking about? U mean this one?

All you have to is that upload the specific sig pic to some website or server and put the address within [ img][ /img] tags. For example, my image is uploaded to this website, http://www.rit.edu/~sxm5750/1.png
So I write this url within the [ img]image url name [ /img] tags in my signature. ( Note that there is a space between “[” and “img”. That space should not be there. I wrote that with space to show u the code.)
The WP stands for What Pulse. You can know more information about it from here, here, here and here.November 21, 2004 at 3:57 am #105301Spike
MemberAnd if you’re taling about the imags themselves, I make those. I made neo_ny_23’s, quiksilver’s and mine, using Macromedia Fireworks.
