MemberThis website looks great in FireFox, but is way off in Explorer. We have had many people look into it, re-code it, etc. Nothing is working.
Please let me know if anyone can help.
The website is: Drop-In-Child-Care!Thanks!

Participantgah… tables. *shudder*
It looks like it has something to do with the spacing and padding of the table cells — without delving through the mass of inline styling, I can only suggest that you look at your table tags and adjust the cellspacing and cellpadding on them.

MemberI highly recommend using this plugin fo Firefox that lets you explore a webpage’s DOM and HTML structure.

That was my first thought as well. I’ll give it a look today to try and find something.
What was used to create the page? It doesn’t look like it was hand-coded, so I’m curious to know what was used incase that might be helpful to me.
I don’t know what’s going to show up for me locally, since that’ll be how I test it…if you see a bunch of hits to images, but not directly from the website, it’s likely to be me. My ip is 66.69.x.x roadrunner, just FYI.

I made a bunch of minor changes to fix some errors, so you’d probably be best off to work forward from my file instead of copying/pasting because there were a bunch of little things needing fixing along with the misalignment. And I added tags to go along with Kidzwatch.net
Is it good to go now?
EDIT: I just zipped it up with the images so you can open it straight into browser without fiddling to see what it looks like. Redownload if you already grabbed it once.

MemberThanks for all of the replies. Jon,
I coded it in Paintshop Pro, but then I tried fooling with the alignment, table padding, center tags, and everything and it didnt work. What exactly was the problem? It looks good in the browser now!
thank youApril 28, 2007 at 5:58 pm #160483Jon8RFC
MemberI’m glad I was able to help…you’re very welcome.
Ah, ok…because it was pretty well laid out compared to purely hand-coding.
I adjusted some things to make them all uniform and prevent errors incase someone is using a non-mainstream browser; this was just to ensure that it was as close as possible to W3C standards. The fix for the bars was moving the tags to immediately after the end of the
tag. Normally, it shouldn’t matter since everything is nested and needs to be easy to read…but for some reason IE didn’t like not closing the tag immediately after. There were also some extra / at the end, inside of the tag which also had another space before the slash, so I took out the space and / to ensure everything was without spaces at the end of the
tags. This was the first time I had seen IE not follow nesting very well…really odd.
