KeymasterHello,
I have windows xp and my outlook Express came already pre-installed on my computer. Every time I try to use outlook it freezes up and I literally have to use Ctrl alt delete to close it and try to open it again..
I get this error message when using it ..
szAppName : MSIMN.EXE szAppVer : 6.0.2800.1123 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000Could anyone tell me how to solve this problem. Since it was pre -installed on my computer I don’t know of any way to delete it and re-install it …….
Please help

ParticipantHow long its been happening and who your ISP is is irrelevant to the problem. This is an application error, not a connection issue.
Wildatheart – Do you have an antivirus program installed on your machine? If so, which one?
If you want to uninstall/reinstall Outlook Express, see this page

KeymasterAfter I placed the problem in the forum I was so desperate, I deleted in the add removes progam one of the updates.. then I reinstalled it .. this helped last night but today .. its not letting mail through so I think its my firewall and a configuration problem but not sure how to solve it .

ParticipantIf your desperate, try going into Norton Antivirus and disabling all email scanning and see if it helps any. It’s just a hunch and probably won’t help but it might be worth a try.

KeymasterOk, I think I may have figured out at least part of the solution to my outlook problem.
Everytime I went into outlook it would freeze on me and give me a hung app error message .
Finally, I used my brain and remembered someone told me to go into safe mode if I ever had a problem to see if the same situation arised. Well I went into safe mode, and outlook started just fine , so then I made it so each id had to ask for a password before opening up. Low and behold when I got done . Everything was working. Also, I found out it must be my firewall conflicting with my outlook and not letting me download my mail . How do I know this ? Because in safe mode everything was working just fine and in safe mode my firewall was not loaded.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help and keep your fingers crossed. I think this problem is solved. Next!!!!! lol
