David
ParticipantI don’t know if the ads are hijacking the pages here now, but I was redirected to http://www.clothes-coupons.com/hsn_coupons.htm and I definitely DID NOT click on any ads for it.
I can deal with the ads, but this is too much.

KeymasterDavid, this concerns me because we didn’t do any URL redirections. Do you recall where you were or what you clicked on when you were redirected?

ParticipantI had just replied to This topic via post.asp.

Is it true? Because if it is, I get redirected to some black page with an ad in the middle on the homepage. Mostly when I click to view an article.

ParticipantFaz, this one is known about, and the page actually when loaded is purple, and a smiley face ad replaces the links for 10 seconds before transfering you to the page requested. This happens only every 11-12 hours, same as the homepage pop-under.

Memberdetn8r is correct about that one. But the problem Dave is experiencing we have no clue about, we’ll try to see what happened. Were you at any other websites by any chance?

MemberI just tried posting to that thread and it did not redirect me.

Uh, yeah…That’s irrelevant though.
I hit the back button and was brought to the topic in question.
I have scanned for spy/ad-ware but haven’t found any.

ParticipantOn a related note, today when I connected to http://www.bigblueball.com I get this after which I click no I get this, then this and finally this.
It only happens once per session, and it doesn’t seem to matter where on BigBlueBall I start. No other websites are causing this. I’ve done a spyware/adware scan which came up with nothing. I have a feeling its something on this system, but would just like to verify that nobody else is getting this as well. Anyone have any ideas of what may be causing this?

KeymasterShifter, it’s an advertiser program I’m testing. If you are logged in (i.e. you clicked “remember me”) you should not get this prompt at all. Members (as long as they are logged in) are exempt. It is something I’m testing, and your feedback is very welcome.

Membershifter- I got the same one you got. I sent a message to Jeff about twenty minutes ago or so. It is pain in the arse having to close that everytime I attempt to surf. Could it be that netpaloffers illegally done something with BigBlueBall without Jeff’s permission/aware about it?
EDIT: oops please disregard this. Thanks, Jeff for letting us know. 😀

ParticipantAh, glad to hear my browser hasn’t been hijacked by adware. I don’t save cookies on this system which is why I recieved the message on every session.
It sure is persistent in getting surfers to install that. I have to say I don’t like it. But if you must have it, one No should be suffiecient, I hate being pestered/forced into something I don’t want on my system. It should be asking me three times if I’m sure that I want to install it, not if I don’t.

MemberIt could just be my browser but I have been getting Cannot Find Server a lot in the past couple of days. Even when there aren’t many members or guests browsing the forums.
