i don’t have a microphone, but i often have times where my friend uses and microphone and i type back. lately, i haven’t been able to do so. it says that i am connected to my friend, but i can’t hear her, and the microphone isn’t muted and it is on full volume. it is the same problem for everybody else that i audio with. none of my volume is muted and my speakers work just fine. i’ve had this problem for about a month now, and i haven’t bothered to do anything else to try to fix it. i have msn 6.2 on a windows XP computer. i do have an anti-virus software installed on my computer. i don’t know if i have a firewall, but if i did, it would be the firewall that comes with windows XP service pack 2 or something like that. no, i don’t have anti-spyware software. i have no addons installed to my messenger. i am directly connected to the internet.
please help!!! thanks very much!

January 30, 2005 at 9:34 am #113211MidgeyMemberwhat msn are you running???
if msn messenger 7.0 then i would go to “tools”, then down to “Audio/Vidieo tuning wizard”February 1, 2005 at 2:33 am #113209spacecamperMemberas mentioned above, i am running msn 6.2. and the audio and tuning wizard doesn’t work.
what is an audio drive? please explain.
thanks.
February 1, 2005 at 12:16 pm #113208IceMemberHave you tried turning of the XP firewall to see if that is what is blocking it?
The audio driver lod refers to is the actual software for your sound card I assume but the card/speakers work fine for eveything else and the reinstall should have fixed any corrupt msn files. Try it with the firewall off and get back to us on how that goes for now.
