“other computer” assumes then there is a primary computer… please explain.

MemberWell It pops up and says that WindowsExplorer.exe isn’t working, and that i has to shut down. And as you know WindowsExplorer is the program that is used to view files and many other things in windows.

Then believe what you read, Explorer isn’t working.
Re-install Windows.August 6, 2003 at 2:40 pm #57895DJHyperbyte
Member“WindowsExplorer.exe” is not a system file. “Explorer.exe” is the name of the system file you are referring to, rustedtight.
ShadowSlayer469, you should scan your system for viruses/trojans. If you don’t find anything, a re-install will indeed solve a lot. 😉

MemberI scaned for viruses end trojans and found none. I don’t want to loose all my files, is there another option besides re-installing?

Membertry using the repair feature… boot up using the XP CD and it has a repair feature…
if that doesnt help, then I dont think there is any other option… what you can do is backup the data onto other partition / CD and then reinstall… thats the only way ur OS will work fine and u wont end up losing files… Also try using System Restore…August 6, 2003 at 7:34 pm #57894Anna
ParticipantI would go with coolguyj2’s suggestion, System Restore. Start > Help and Support > Undo changes to your computer with System Restore. Roll back to a definite date, a few days back or even a week.

MemberI know you need a little more info on what exactly is going on. So heres the error:

and heres the next part of the error you get when you press for technical information.

I am sorry that I cannot post all of what the error said, it would not let my copy the text. But as you will notice on the bottom of the error, it has a text file that had been added to the error report. Here is what the text file contained:I would like to point out this line :
IE_ClrSch.DLL is one of the files the error alert said it was having problems with, it says that it was filtered out by a filter labled “GRABMI_FILTER” If any one could tell me what this means, it would be appriciated.

MemberWhy is an app from Clear Search Inc. running?
There is insufficient information provided about your system to make a judgement.
On the face of it your OS is corrupt and needs to be refreshed. This is not like a format and all data is not lost … programs are not destroyed, tho they DO need to be re-installed to their original location .
