to get terraim at school, what do i click on once i get to the terraim site? i have been gettin on AIM express in french but its dumb and cant understand anything it says!!
January 28, 2005 at 5:21 pm #113141mm_jennaMemberYou need to have the terrAIM file on a disk already, as far as I know. Then, you load the file from the disk or flash drive or whatever.
Or, you could just learn French. Ce n’est pas très difficile.
January 28, 2005 at 5:33 pm #113145RustyMemberYea but you name the file “calc” without the quotes and open it up and the comptuer thinks it is Windows Calculator program…
January 28, 2005 at 5:44 pm #113137TigerbladeParticipant… uh, ok? what did that have to do with terrAIM?
January 28, 2005 at 6:03 pm #113147CantTouchThisMemberWhy do you even need AIM at school? All of your friends are probably in class..

January 28, 2005 at 10:15 pm #113144LLXerxesMemberjust use AIM express
January 28, 2005 at 11:22 pm #113140CronusParticipantOnce you’ve clicked on the big yellow download banner and downloaded from SourceForge, just run the program.
However, I would suggest using a disk or some means of storing the program which you can take with you so that you can keep your profile, fonts, and other settings.January 28, 2005 at 11:53 pm #113138TigerbladeParticipantLLXerxes wrote:just use AIM expressshe said she’s using aim express already.although, nikita, i’m not sure why you’re using the French version. did your school block the regular aim express site? my opinion is that maybe you should actually be paying attention in class instead of trying to get on aim, but that’s just me.
January 31, 2005 at 12:38 am #113149SayianMemberaccess regular aim express through a proxy at your school? Or is that also blocked?
January 31, 2005 at 11:15 pm #113143aznballa161Participantstop telling nikita to pay attention in class. just help her solve the problem. god damn.

February 1, 2005 at 12:43 am #113136OreoMemberIf you look through many of the “IM in Education” threads you’ll notice this question answered. There are LOTS of reasons why schools block AIM. Tiger is completely right. Just because you may not like his answer does not mean that it is not true. Sometimes kids can’t get what they want no matter how much they whine…because SOMETIMES what they want is NOT what they need. Get as mad as you want with this answer or at me. It won’t change a thing. It’s LIFE!
February 2, 2005 at 11:55 pm #113148tylongMemberi would have to agree with oreo on this one…our schools block AIM for a purpose…i would like to add tho that nikita there is a way u can get onto aim in ur school..of all the programs ive seen to block aim none is unstoppable..i have about 5 different ways i can get onto aim in school on my laptop and my school spent 37K on a script to stop us. It may take some research on your part to try to find what kind of block the computers may have and doing a simple google search. It may be as simple as using a memory stick to bring the application in. If that doesnt work or if u have tried it and the computers have blocked it then go down to your computer lab or area where they monitor the computers and congradulate them..cause they have stopped you lol..i think there are about 4 other topics of this same thing on these forums..i dont see why people are so interested in gettin on aim in school to talk to ur friend 2 classes down who u will see in an hour in lunch. kinda get what im sayin?
