Tagged: idle
Although I might be actively chatting in a chat room, the idle time indicator next to my name in the people list continues to accrue time. Right now it says 36 minutes but I’ve been almost continuously active. I can’t figure out how to do the setting in Preferences/Privacy/Idle Status to make it work correctly. I currently have it set as: “Show me as ‘idle’ if I don’t use my computer for 50 minutes.” Doesn’t that mean that prior to 50 minutes of inactivity, there should be no idle time indicator displayed? Regardless of whether or not I check the first line in the interface and regardless of the number of minutes I enter, the system does not sense my activity. Furthermore, checking or not checking the 2nd line, “Do not show anyone how long I have been idle,” has no effect. Frankly, I don’t understand why the check box is grayed-out in the 2nd question if I uncheck the first question. It would seem to me that “Do not show anyone how long I have been idle” is absolute and how the first question is set should be irrelevant. In my opinion this idle time setting is just plain stupid. Can someone help me with this please. It should be so simple to do. I don’t know why Yahoo has to make it so difficult.
Yeah, this is an issue I’ve noticed myself. Of course, as you guessed Yahoo has dropped the ball once again.
