Any good sites out there to find IM and Alternative IM reviews? I’m wondering how the top names compare as well as the Alts like Trillian, etc.
Thanks!Well, I have tried most, and could give reviews on them. So are there any you’d like reviewed? I know you mentioned Trillian so here’s my review:
Trillian not only can talk to other networks, but can also do video (pro) and voice. Has many features you will find in the main networks. Also has plugin support, skin support, and tabbed IM windows. All and all an excelent messenger, I haven’t been able to find anything better. The only problems is that you need to buy it to use Video, plugins and many other “bells and whistles”.Thanks for your post. Of all the top name messengers (AIM, MSN, etc.), which do you prefer? And specifically, what do you think is the best alternative messenger?
Thanks for the info 🙂Out of the top name ones, I prefer MSN or ICQ. They both are just really well made, maybe not having tabbed windows and such, but they beat AIM and Yahoo. As for alternative, I’ve looked and looked, nothing is better than Trillian. I have yet to see something compare.
I will say that I haven’t found anything better than Gaim 1.5.0. I am a student and I have the job of running a screen name separate from my own, for an organization that I am involved with. Gaim is the only IM that let’s me have TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT profiles and AWAY MESSAGES. So far it’s the best for me. And it’s also free.
