… changes the emoticon that people see left of your id (nickname) in theyr friends list … i know that when you change the avatar (custom display image) the smiley is replaced with a small version of the avatar … the program (afaik) makes from two images one … i know how this works vecause i’ve managed to make it in photoshop but i couldnt make it perfectlly
for those that know how the nearest neighbor resize method works is easy to understand … yahoo uses that resize method, thus it uses only some pixels from the avatar … if u ca identify the exact pixels you can replace them with the pixels from another image (a smaller one, like an emoticon) … when the person is lookin in theyr friend list the image is the small one but when they look at the avatar is another image with the pixels from the small one spread on in it (it does create a small grid effect on the avatar but unless u know exactlly what it’s about they may pass unnoticed)does anyone has an ideea how the program is called and where can i find it ?
[edit]
i have atached an example of the way the thing works …questions? answers ?

If you are wanting to display an IMAGE of your choosing next to your name, you will have to be un stealthed, thats the only way it will show in the other users messenger buddy list.

I have created a tiny program in C++ which does exactly this, allowing to generate “2 in 1” avatars 🙂Yahoo! Magic Avatar – 2 in 1 Yahoo! Messenger avatars generator
