What, if any, programs are available to secure AIM (and/or MSN) as much as possible… i.e. hacking-protection, password protection, etc etc. I’m not even entirely sure what i’m looking for, i just want my computer and programs to be as secure as possible… any suggestions?
Use a firewall and anti virus software.
i have both on my computer, but that wont necessarily stop hackers, etc…
Are you using a Hard Firewall or a Software one?
If you use a Hard Firewall ie Router, The incoming IP on your computer will be dynamically assigned by the router. Therefore, noone can get past the router on incoming. My experience, I have gotton around software firewalls easy 😉

Well then, there is nothing that will necessarily stop hackers thats why they are still a threat.
As you requested…
“as much as possible” is the basis of the replies here. When you are sure what you are looking for and let us know members may then be in a better position to offer the advise you seek.

Use common sense. Don’t accept files from anyone you don’t trust. Don’t give out your IP.
^^ THAT is the true Antivirus.
