MemberFirst, to clarify I am talking about imForward(tm) (http://www.imforward.com), not the IM Forwarding service that AOL or AIM provides.
I signed up for imForward(tm) a few days ago and it hasn’t been working. It hasn’t been logging me on with an away message after I log off, nor have I received the messages on my phone. Why? How do I fix this? I have e-mailed the technical support team at imForward(tm), but they aren’t very quick in replying, so I thought I’d post here in the meantime. I suppose I should mention that I am using AIM version 5.2.3227 with DeadAIM 4.0.
Here’s a thorough explanation of what has been happening or what has not been happening.
I entered the registration code for my cell phone and my e-mail account. I added my AIM account with the settings of displaying the away message, forwarding only to my phone, and turning imForward “ON”. Lastly, I clicked the “activate” link on the right-hand side of the menu. I am fairly sure that these are all the steps I need to take.
After that, I signed off my AIM account, and logged on again under a friend’s account to see if it worked. The first time imForward(tm) logged me on about half a minute after I had logged off and displayed the away message. I sent myself an IM using my friend’s SN to test it out, but I never received the message on my cell. When I tried logging back onto my own SN, AIM kept giving me an error message that “I attempted to sign on again too soon” and to try again later. I’m not sure why it does this, but I waited about 5 minutes and I was finally able to sign on again.
Now, I am able to switch between screen names with ease, but imForward(tm) never signs me on when I am offline, and it goes without saying that I don’t receive the messages on my cell phone.
What am I doing incorrectly?
Sorry for the long explanation, and thank you for all your help in advance.

Ah… thank you. This topic was from long, long ago. The imForwards thing worked for a little while, on and off, but it was a hassle. It would kick me offline when I signed onto my AIM from home, and would only work sporadically. I also didn’t like the idea of my having to give them my password. I have since turned it off. The IM forwarding service from AIM finally worked for me, and I used that for a little while, and have also since turned that off. Too many people IMing — went over the text message storage so fast.
