I beg everyone to read my pleas.
1. Actually talk. I can’t stand when people IM me, say, “Hey sup?” and then say nothing else.
2. Plan on being online with me more than 5 minutes. I hate when people IM “just to say hi and bye” and then log off again.
3. Use a legible font and one that’s a decent size. Not all of us have 20/20 vision.
4. Please don’t use a bunch of acronyms and netspeak that no one’s heard of. Some shorthand is OK, but don’t use stuff that other people don’t know.
I agree, heres some more!
5) When im on busy, that means im busy. i do not want questions such as why are you busy? or annoying sound messages.
6) Do not invite me into a completely pointless conversation with people that even you do not know.
7) If im “away” then chances are i will be away from the computer and will not respond to the sound messages you are using to get my attention

What’s wrong with that? The whole point of IMs is to be able to talk to your friends. That’s like not saying hello when you walk into a room.
I agree with Red Devil’s rules though, all 3 of them…
