MemberLet me first say HELLO I am new.
I came in via a google search. You guys and Gals seem to be the leading experts in the IM wizzard feild.
Let me start by giving you some background…
The handheld in question is a Windows CE device, that runs a custom built shell as it was a very crippled PDA out of the BOX.
The Casio BE 300
http://www.casio.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=products.detail&catalog=Personal%20PCs§ion=Pocket%20Managers&product=BE%2D300It does share a close relationship to higher price full blown Pocket PCs bt has less bells and whistles and half the memory.
Ok that being said, the unit now runs many of the Windows CE versions of IM’s like Yahoo IM, AOL IM and reports of ICQ running have made it to the message boards.
Now Casio did not wish to pay Microsoft fees for MS files, in order to maintain a low level in price. But many BE users grew tired of the shortfalls and fixed that on their own, mainly in part of a Super Code writer!!!So my latest quest…..The MSN missing link……..led me here.
I would like to express my MANY thanks to the person who dug up the Odigo WAP portal as it runs beautiful on the BE 300, tho somewhat slow.
What I am in search of is a Java based MSN deal that will run on a limited PDA using min memory and the Personal Java VM for PDA.
I have tried all of the links in the WEB Based Thread, however the BE browser is not able to open new windows to allow the web script to run.
Does anyone know if there is a slim version of dMSN that has a good shot at running on a PDA ????????
Any and all help would be welcomed.
Now before I get an answer of , go to Microsoft and download the version for PPC 2002, it will not run on our PDA as ours is a total different chip set. PDA is not like PC Intel and MIPS chips are totaly different and react diferently. Thus software must be compiled to a chip.
