500 charactars isn’t enough. I can’t even have my OSI’s in my sig. I can’t add anything, it seems so limiting.
I just think 4 tiny images (OSI’s) and 1 size 1 link shouldn’t be too big. What do you think?January 23, 2005 at 4:20 pm #112687OreoMemberI think the sizes are fine. If we made them too large all you would see is signatures. The size they are right now allows for signatures and for there to be actual discussion to go on in the forums. That’s my opinion, with huge signatures the forums will look cluttered and unprofessional.

well, we can make a limit on some other size factor, like lines. We can make a 5 line limit rule.
All I’m saying is we can have tiny images, or size 1 links, that are around 50+ charactars. 4 OSI’s are over 500!January 23, 2005 at 4:35 pm #112688DavidParticipantThere is no need to put your OS into your signature, nor is there is a need for your contact information in your signature, it’s already in your profile. Also remember that some of us are on dialup, and don’t want to load 10 images every time you post somewhere.
500 Chars is way more than enough IMO.

LLXerxes, do me a favor, and remove the actual text you wrote for your IM contact information. That is already listed in your profile, and if any of us are interested in contacting you, we will look in your profile. If you want to link to OSI images, then you will have enough characters to do so. If not, THAT is what we will look into. There is definitely no need to have OSI and text for your contact info.January 24, 2005 at 3:38 am #112689RabidKittenParticipantLLXerxes wrote:well, we can make a limit on some other size factor, like lines. I mean, alright, an image and two lines isn’t bad if they’re small lines, but 5 lines of normal sized text spans a larger area than many peoples actual posts. And don’t even get into if they have an image.
But that’s all personal opinion. The admin and mods put up a limit and guidelines for ‘acceptable behavior’ and such and they’re more than reasonable. Although I did have to take a couple links off my sig, really, it cuts down on a lot of unneeded trash. There’s no reason for contact info on a sig when it’s in your profile, it just takes up room and time that I have to hit my little scroll wheel. *smirk*
