I am setting up my server so I can host OSI and I am having the hosting company open port 8080 – Since I don’t have a graphical user interface can I use my WSFTP to set up the service or do I need to just do the manual config?
And secondly, does a surfer always have to refresh the page he is viewing to see the current online status or will the status parse to the page while the surfer is viewing the page after a certain amount of time without having to refresh it?
Thanks,
Vince
Answer to your first question: You must be able to run a Java program at your web hosting. You cannot start a Java program through FTP. Since you don’t have a graphical user interface you need to set up status.conf manually.
Answer to your second question: The surfer needs to refresh the page (or at least refresh the status image).
Thanks Tony, I’ll be working on it this weekend. By the way, do you know what is going on with
213.93.110.36 ? None of the indicators hosted there are working on my pages. Until I get my server
set up with OSI I am going to have to change to another.

That host does not seem to be up and running. I know that he has had network problems before, so that could be the case.
