Its possible that during signup you by default allowed them to share your address with other providers, its easy to rush thru a signup and miss the fact of ticked boxes indicating you want to share your address with other commercial product providers.
Is that doggie poo on my sole?

KeymasterAnytime you sign-up for an ISP or email newsletter or even a web site like BigBlueBall, you need to carefully read the privacy statement and watch the form very closely.
Many sites will try to trick you during the registration process. You will never see a check box labeled, “May we sell your email address to other advertisers who will then spam you from here to eternity?” Instead, you’ll see something innocuous like “Would you like to be informed of related offers and specials from third-parties?” Sounds fairly harmless, but it means the same thing. And often, these forms will have those “opt-in” options selected by default!
So read carefully, and opt-out of anything that looks like an open-ended invitation for them to fill your email inbox with junk.
NOTE: BigBlueBall NEVER sells your email address. I occasionally send out an email newsletter with updates on the site, but that’s it. Believe me, I hate spam as much as you do!
