Home › Forums › Archives › Instant Messaging › Yahoo! Messenger Support › "Invite to Y!360" OR "View Y!360 Page" – WHICH?
In YM (7.5.0.333) when I hover on a friend’s name it’ll say one of the above 2 phrases.
Fine, but in many (most!!?) cases when I know that friend DOES have a 360 page, to which I have easy access via my 360 Friends, or via their simple-URL, it still says “Invite…”.
This even applies with my OWN name on my YM list, and I sure have a 360 page.
Can anyone tell me – or speculate – why ?
I don’t think the 360 page has anything to do with your friends list, or with messenger.
I mean Yahoo can’t determine from the chat server, WHO you have already on your 360 page.
I’m sure at some point they will have that feature, but as for I think they are two seperate entities and the only true link, is your profile.
Hi there Netti.
I’m sorry I can’t understand what you’re saying at all. 🙁
YM doesn’t need to know who I have on my 360 list – it just needs to know IF a certain user HAS a 360 page or not. Which it appears to do ok most of the time.
If that person on my YM list has got a 360 page, YM invites me to go VIEW it (whether the person’s connected to ME on 360 or not).
But if that person doesn’t have 360, YM suggests I INVITE them to get one.
In theory that’s perfect, and indeed it works that way in most cases, but in some it doesn’t seem to apply that simple rule.
hi Eagle_Kiwi,
I’ve experienced the same thing with 360 contacts on my list. Sometimes I see this “Invite..”, even if i know 100 % they do have a 360 profile, and if i view their profile then, its all of a sudden the “old” pro again. I have no real explanation for it, maybe the 360 servers are down for maintainance at that moment or so. Usually the “View…” message shows up again after a while.
