i am a mod for a few discusstion board and i notice that my ip address on the boards are different the one on aim. on aim i go to rightclick>insert>ipaddress.
is it suppost to be different on websites then aim.. thanks john
Mine is like that to.
Its the same on almost all computers, Its just like that
I’m guessing that you use some type of a router/gateway. When you go to insert the ip address, it inserts the actual IP address of the computer AIM is running on…your “LAN IP”. When you’re at a website, it sees the IP address your ISP has given to you, your “WAN IP” or “outside IP”.
So yeah, if you see something in AIM starting with 192. (I think another common one is 10.) then that’s your situation.
