Is it possible to get an IP for someone on AIM? Or even to tell if Screen Name A and Screen Name B are the same person? Without hacking? If so, the next obvious Q is…… HOW!?? (duh! 😀
If they are stupid enough, you can tell them to right click on the typing space in the IM, click on insert, and then ‘Insert IP Address’ they probably wont fall for it, My friend has this program called Methodus 3, you send the person a link and if they click on it, their IP shows up.
Thanks! After a short search I found IMChaos, which let’s you put a relatively harmless looking link in your profile, then if someone clicks, you get their IP. For an example look at UnMbwogable.

I have 10000+ people that have clicked on a link in a profile, recording their name on my site. You can search for individual names, seeing the last time they visited, their IP and their visit count.
Don’t abuse it, please.

lol anyways AIM makes a direct connection between people chatting…
soooooo there is this neat device installed in windows called netstat which tells you what all co mputers you are connected tooo…sweet huh?
clck Start…then Run…then type cmd.exe to get your command prompt up and running then type netstat
it will show all the hosts you are connected too… then its just simply figuring out which one is theirs (in other words dont open IE or anything and chat ONLY with this person )

I tried the netstat command, but I couldn’t 1 of them to directly connect. I also met both people yesterday, which would sort of dis-prove my theory of having 1 person and 2 s/n’s hehe 😀

hey man this is what i been looking for you see i made a page in aol hometown a couple of weeks ago and so far 22 people has been viewing my page. i would like to monitor my page to see whos checking on me can you please help me i would like to see their screen name like you did on your page newrisedesigns. thanks you….
Hey – the IMChaos site only records teh first three numbers of the IP address – I need all four to be able to turn the offenders into their ISP. Any ideas on how I can get all 4? Also, I tried Methodus, and it didn’t work – the person clicked the link, and nothing happened at my end. I tried it with a few willing participants, and no luck. Any ideas?
Ok check it out kids…..the only way you can get an IP from aim is to direct connect, and when you do that you go to start menu, run, type in command hit enter, then type netstat then enter, now sometimes all you will see is the persons host (isp) and not the IP number, in that case you cant do anything aboot that unless you know what you are doing 😉 Sooooo, you dont know what you are doing, ok well then if you have a firewall and you can see what your computer is connected to then you can do that to get the full IP of your evil friend.
hey NewRiseDesigns, since u log their ip, u could also log their sn right? because i really want to have a logging feature in my subprofile that im making but i cant find the code to do it and if u could email me the code, i would greatly appreciate it.
I would love to know if there is a website out there where you can find out the email address that belongs to a particular screen name…..I have been getting harassed by someone who obviously knows me and tried the tricks mentioned in this forum but they obviously aren’t falling for it
let me know what I can do….by the way, this person has many many screen names so even though i block him/her..it doesnt stop them

Every machine in a network has a unique identifying number, called an IP Address. If a machine in the network wants to connect to another machine in the network, it needs its IP address.
