Memberi logged into my yahoo account for the first time in ages today and nearly died.
100MB… BLOODY HELL
MSN needs to get it’s act together, or Yahoo will kill it off…
Opinions…

MemberI am pretty sure Microsoft has plans upgrading Hotmail and MSN… Just give them the time…
I like MSN and Hotmail, but I personally prefer Yahoo E-mail over MSN/Hotmail and any other free web-based E-mail providers.

Member100MB, good isn’t it, for nothing. I used to have a Hotmail account, but moved to Yahoo because of the amount of SPAM I got on Hotmail. Obviously, I still get SPAM on Yahoo, I think thats unavoidable, but it filters into the bulk folder much better. And yes, Microsoft will probably upgrade sooner or later, they’re not the type of company to sit back are they?
Still, each to his own.
Also, why is this in the MSN Messenger section? Shouldn’t it be in the computer room section or something?

MemberHaving spoken with an MS insider, yes they have plans to upgrade. However, a date has not been set as the plan is still in early development. The department in charge of Hotmail is working to increase the storage quota. It will just take time…even MS has a bureaucracy…

Memberyea….Yahoo have already attracted way to much visitors already.. I mean come on…. 2MB Vs 100MB…. I mean hotmail is a JOKE!! The only reason people is still using hotmail is because of its MSN service..but.. with Yahoo’s new messenger….Hotmail and MSN don’t stand a chance unless they can get their act together in oh lets say…… 2 month… it’s true.

Memberwould like to agree, however it isn’t all that simple. my friends are MSN addicts.. it takes lots of begging just to get them to try yahoo..
with no doubt, microsoft gt the big 7.0 under their sleeves. no one knows what is hiding in it. maybe there willl be a Hotmail surprise on the day MSN Messenger 7.0 is released. we can only wait to find out.
Yahoo! is a company that tries to impress their people, they arnt as advanced or skilled as microsoft, but their goal is to keep their consumers happy.
overall, I think it would be as easy to make people switch from MSN Messenger to Firefox. they are two totally different things, and people get hooked on such things.
thats just my point of view

Member7.0? as in the version of the messenger? well… if it is… trust me there is nothing special… quite a few of my friends do beta testing for microsoft and they said so far, MSN 7 is not that stunning… and about customer satisfaction… isn’t that is what it is all about? Making customer happy? A happy customer is a paying customer you know…. I mean…. I think yahoo really got a big chance here to make a lot of people switch, and I think Microsoft will be in a lot of trouble if they don’t start coming up with something….

uh… apples and oranges. MSN Messenger is an instant messaging client, and Firefox is an internet browser. so how do you “switch” from one to the other?

“something” is simple: an increased inbox amount (20mb would be easily enough, theres no need for 100mb really) and more importantly… RELIABILITY, a service which isn’t constantly down or doesn’t let you sign in. Come on this is microsoft, they’re too rich and powerful to be so unreliable!
