The only good yahoo chat room where one doesn’t run into a lot of hassles and fights of one kind or another is a “conference” room with invited friends. Usually anybody that the person has invited in can invite in more. But hopefully everybody has the same goal in mind – a friendly, peaceful, have fun kind of room lol
Very true about conference rooms, unless people you invite, in turn invite people you don’t know.
If you hear of any good chat rooms, let me know please ?? lol

I’m sure there are many good rooms out there and many unlisted ones also.
However as the saying goes “Different strokes for different folks”
What you like may not be liked by the next person, and vice versa.
If you’re wanting to meet people perhaps try some of the mainstream rooms like “Chat Central” or “Pickup bar” rooms.

ther used 2 be a few good rooms i visted but now its taking over by fights arguing over the mic an ofcourse the spam botts i belive this is a real problem in most room nowadays in which case ive stop going now
I have never seen a listed Yahoo chat room that wasn’t overrun with bots. It’s sad and frustrating. Those rooms are virtually useless. I’m not sure why Yahoo keeps them running.
The european rooms used to be a LOT of fun…but the bots found those too…bots and people from countries I will not name asking for marriage….whether they knew your gender or not. I think chatrooms as they used to be are just that…”used to be” and probably will not being coming back 🙁
there are a good few locale rooms that are not listed.
bots are not in them because they don’t know them
2 irish ones for example..

Dublin Locals:1…these rooms are hidden so porn bots don’t know them.

According to me,yahoo chat help is better than others room.There are many bots but lesser than other rooms.Otherwise as scorp said,”The only good yahoo chat room where one doesn’t run into a lot of hassles and fights of one kind or another is a “conference” room with invited friends.”. is better way.The room written by dermot is also gr8 too visit and really there is a lesser number of bots,but i did find bots there too.
I have used Yahoo! Chat Help rooms fo years and lately they are just full of bots and idiots.
The 2 rooms i listed above have no bots as i left my id in there all night and not one bot entered.
there are many Local rooms that boot programs and porn bots don’t have that can become a haven for people who just want a quiet chat with friends.
as jeff said you will be pushed to find a “listed” room that ain’t got a bot issue and the only way yahoo would fix this is by changing the login again but this time not letting it slip to third parties like the last time, but this would also mean the end of chat clients and third party messengers logging into the yahoo network.
If yahoo offered better spam prevention on their messenger it would be a better chat experience for all, a simple wildcard system for id’s on yahoo! messenger would be an excellent addition.
