Is there a way to keep a log?

Is there a program or anything out there that I can get that will log when the people on my buddy list get on or off?

if you use gaim you can set it to do that. you can do it in aim by checking the notifications or use an aim add on like middle man or messenger mate. not too sure abot yahoo. not entirely too sure about msn on its own but messenger mate will do and i believe and possibly messenger plus
