ParticipantI play Yahoo! Spades a lot… my problem is this… when I leave a room (hit the close box) the window closes and everything, but the little bar on the bottom of the screen stays there (like the window is minimized). When I click on the bar to try and re-open the window nothing happens. Only way I can get rid of this is by ctrl-alt-dlt and end task. Also if I try to open a new game room before ending the old one, IE freezes. I had this problem before on my windows 98 system, and was able to fix it by disabling sun java vm and using microsoft’s… but I don’t have it on this system (only option in internet options, advanced tab is use Java 2 v 1.4.2_05 for applet, and unchecked, games do not work at all). I have uninstalled and reinstalled java, cleared temp files and cookies. Is there anywhere to get the microsoft java vm, or any other possible fixes?
Oh BTW, I’m using an HP Pavillion N5470, Windows XP Pro, all updates (incl SP2, but had the same problems before SP2), 1 GHz mobile AMD Athlon 4, 256 MB RAM, latest version Sun Java VM… all adware/spyware/virus scans come up clean.

MemberYou might want to check your version of Java. Go to http://java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp to download the latest version.

ParticipantNope I have the latsest version of Java… I asked around and it seems a lot of people I play with have the same problem. I was hoping someone can tell me how to get microsoft java vm… it seemed to work better on my old pc. I remember reading somewhere that you cannot download it from microsoft, but you can get updates for it at their site, if you have an older version already installed.

ParticipantI am trying toWrite a “query-controlled” loop that will continue to input int values from the user, adding each to the int value sum, and then ask if the user has another value to input, until the user says that there are no more values. Assume that the scanner class has been imported.

ParticipantThe length operator can be used to control a for-loop that iterates through each element of an array, as in
for (int j=0; j<list.length; j++)
However,some one said that this is not necessarily safe. Why not?

ParticipantI am trying to Write a method to compute and return the value of max – min where max is the largest element of an int array and min is the smallest element of an int array. The method is passed the int array and an int value that denotes the number of elements in the array. may we can assume that the int array has at least 1 element in it.
