https://bigblueball.com/forums/211023-post1.htmlAIM installers I’ve collected:
Index of /aim/versions
(cleaning up and checking others)Default files are ALL version-specific compiled files from each installation. For instance, AIM 5.5.3595 – 5.5.3599 uses the same AimRes.dll, but each AimRes I have up for download is the compiled version from each specific AIM installation. The AimRes.dll for 5.5.3595 has the build number of 3595, 5.5.3598 has build number 3598, etc. This is done for ALL of the default files I have up, I did this so that everything is 100% perfect and legit, so no possible problems can occur from the file itself, such as trying to boot up AIM.
The installers have all been renamed to Install_AIM_X.X.XXXX.exe format if they weren’t already.
Default files are served up by major & minor version (ie, 5.5), then build number (ie 3572), then the folder “originals”, then the files themselves zipped up individually. ie:
The folder “originals” exists because that’s my scheme for saving AIM defaults and edits that I keep. I might end up adding my, or others’, edited files in the folder “edited” in the future, so it’s handy to have that option ready without needing to move a bunch of stuff.
Installers are served up by major & minor version (ie, 5.5), then the installers themselves in original exe form. ie:
May 29, 2005 at 2:44 pm #122714TigerbladeParticipantwell i have to say, your howto has helped me out more than a few times in the past when i was modding AIM… we appreciate the amount of effort you’ve put into all this.
May 29, 2005 at 6:10 pm #122722SlapShotMemberyeah thanks, keep up the good work
May 31, 2005 at 2:46 am #122721RustyMemberI will say your add remover removed my AIM ads better than ever I was so happy with they way it turned out.
June 9, 2005 at 11:10 am #122715f0rbezMemberHey Jon, let me know if you’d like more versions for your collection. I’ve got close to 70 of them. Mostly newer ones, but also some very old ones too.
June 10, 2005 at 3:04 am #122716Jon8RFCMemberThanks 🙂 I’m going through and confirming the older ones I have right now. Once I’ve done that, I’ll get in touch with you.
June 10, 2005 at 5:38 pm #122712Jeff HesterKeymasterJon8RFC, it would be nice if you could provide a hash (md5, etc) of the original installer files. that way if someone downloads the exe from another site they can verify the hash from yours. obviously this is assuming that your website has the original installers that have not been modified in any way. since you are going through the trouble of verifing each file, why not include the hash? 😉
June 11, 2005 at 12:44 am #122717Jon8RFCMemberGood idea!
August 3, 2005 at 3:02 am #122718Jon8RFCMemberBump.
Got the adremovers for AIM 5.0 – 5.2 finished. It took me over an hour to figure out how to make it flawless since it isn’t as easy to make it perfect like on 5.5 and 5.9. First I had to figure out how to remove the ad space, which 5.5 and 5.9 did automatically when you delete the ads themselves; then I had to figure out how to make that space stay gone when you put up an away message…man that was very tough.
Anyways, flawless adremoval for all AIM 5 versions is at your disposal!
August 4, 2006 at 7:50 am #122719Jon8RFCMemberBump. Ad-removal for the most recent AIM version is up, along with confirmed hex offsets.
I should’ve updated this thread much earlier, but I’ve been pretty busy. However, I can assure you that I was quick to update, as always…check the timestamp on my howto page to see! The ad-remover was created immediately afterwards, remotely, from Seattle, WA.
November 17, 2006 at 11:15 pm #122723RebirthMemberHey, Jon. Will you be making a “howto” for 6.0 now that there’s a final release? Editing all parts of the previous AIM versions was very easy and quick with your guide. The colors and some other things in 6.0 are already starting to annoy me 😀
November 18, 2006 at 7:52 am #122720Jon8RFCMemberThanks 🙂
At some point I’d like to do something for the new version, but right now I don’t have enough solid blocks of time to really dig into it and learn how everything is done. It’s nice to hear that there’s an interest in modding the new version though–I’ll keep your request in mind when I go at 6.0.
November 22, 2006 at 3:54 pm #122724RebirthMemberYou’re welcome. Glad to know you’ll be doing it eventually 🙂
June 16, 2008 at 7:17 pm #122725Holdem185MemberIs there a program that will let you change your online time? Instead of keeping it signed all the time is there a program that can let you change the time that would be cool?

Try creating a new thread Holdem185, this one isn’t related to a program that will change idle status. I have no idea how you have so many posts and don’t know the basics of using a message board.
