Just wondering if anyone else is expirencing major internet slowness?
Mine hasn’t been right all day.:(
November 12, 2006 at 11:42 pm #154381PolarBearNPRParticipantThings seem fine here . . . how are you connected? Our DSL sometimes has slow periods when lots of people are on . . . like on cold, rainy weekend days.
November 13, 2006 at 12:27 am #154374BShink21MemberI’m connected by DSL.
I know sometimes when lots of people are on it gets really slow.
But, this has been all day, wicked slow.November 13, 2006 at 1:03 am #154384Soccer4dummysMemberonly on this site, or the internet… period?

November 13, 2006 at 3:12 am #154373SpikeMemberSpeakeasy – Speed Test Choose the location closest to yours, and tell me what it reports your speed at.
Also, what is the ‘advertised’ speed of your line, how fast do they actually say it should go?
November 13, 2006 at 7:26 pm #154376BShink21MemberI’m not technically talking about speed wise, I’m talking more along the lines of it not working all together. Most web pages won’t load for me and this is one of the few exceptions. Also AIM hasn’t worked I sometimes can connect and sometimes I can. I have checked the connection, many times and have found nothing unplugged or wrong.
This all started to happen when Adelphia became TimeWarner, but this is the worst it has been. When they first switched it became slow, but now it doesn’t work.

November 14, 2006 at 10:18 pm #154382PolarBearNPRParticipantSorry, should have clarified. This is IN the house. If I’m downloading something, the whole house slows down somewhat. And that may be true in other places/institutions as well. And also, it sometimes seems slower on cold, rainy days. Maybe a mug of hot cocoa would speed things up a bit.

November 14, 2006 at 11:09 pm #154383PolarBearNPRParticipantAfter checking with the geeks in residence . . . we have a router. We have 1.5M coming into the house, and I was guessing it gets distributed among whoever’s got their computer on. I know that when things are downloading, it seems slower, but I’ve had no problems doing what I want (for the most part) because of this issue.
November 19, 2006 at 7:31 pm #154377BShink21MemberThe problem seems to be fixed now, I’m guessing now that it was just technical difficutly woes from the company.
thnks for all the replies though.
