Howdy again!
Sorry, been watching a mutherload of Japanese movies lately, seems they kick Hollywood formula movies a$$es even when they are lame…
Anyway, KG’s main protagonist is a Japanese lolita teenager who becomes friends with a yankee (japanese meaning: hoodlum, juvenile delinquent) biker gang member. This movie is so great in so many bad ways: all of the characters are 2-dimensional, mocking of establishment, breaking the 4th wall, awesome music/camera angle segues, etc, etc… The reason it works is why all good bad movies work; they refuse to take themselves seriously.
Also one of the few movies after watching it I had to pick up the soundtrack. One song, “She Said” (Youtube link:) was definitely worth a repeat listen. Sorry, if you read my Dororo review, you know I’m a lousy storyteller
