MemberHi,
Is there a way to keep my away message for a different sn on permanently so people can be redirected to my new sn.
For example, I created a new sn “ABC” and my old sns are “AAA”and ABB” If Someone IM’s AAA or ABB I want a message to them popping up and saying “New SN: ABC” Is that possible without using linked screennames?
Thanks so much!March 26, 2006 at 9:03 pm #140720MrEggsalad
ParticipantYou must be logged on somehow with those other 2 names, so you would need to be logged on either through a web client or whatever, it’s just how AIM works. You need to be online for the Away Message, so yeah.

So if they IM my old sn it’ll redirect it to me or it will inform them about my new sn.

ParticipantOk, with this you will have to be lucky to get in there, however, this should keep you signed in for a long time, it did for me as I had forgotten to sign out. Go to http://www.webaim.net and sign in with the screen names you want, I’m not sure if it does support away messages, however, if it does then set that up and have the message be whatever you want. After that, simply close your browser, DO NOT SIGN OFF, just close your internet browser and it should keep those names logged in, for a while anyways.

MemberI understand how this works but will it still keep me logged on if their servers reboot or something like that? Are there any other alternatives?
Thanks MrEggsalad

ParticipantI really am not sure, other than just having some alternative AIM client always running on your computer, I really don’t think there are any ways.

MemberOh that’s really unfortunate…I think I might as well try to keep the messages up 24/7 thanks a lot for you help!
