I was chatting with a couple members of the BigBlue Crew the other day, and someone wondered aloud “Who has the most reputation points?”
What are reputation points? Reputation points are earned when someone “gives you rep” for a good post or reply. As your reputation points increase, you get more stars next to your posts. The reputation point system is a simple way of establishing who is providing good answers consistently over time.
You can see your own reputation points by clicking Edit My Profile (you must be signed in) in the forum navigation menu. Other people only see your reputation rank, as indicated by the number of stars next to your name in your posts.
Of course you can sort the member list by reputation to get a ranked listing, but this still doesn’t show the actual points of each member.
The long and short of all this is that BigBlueBall now has expanded statistics available. You can find them near the bottom of our forum home page.
Here’s what you’ll find in the newly expanded stats:
- Hottest Threads – These are the topics with the most replies
- Most Viewed Threads – The most popular topics at BigBlueBall
- Top Posters – Who has the most posts?
- Top Reputations – Members with the higest number of reputation points
- Latest Posts – Same as clicking “New Posts” but a convenient, at-a-glance view
Want more? If you love stats, you can view even more by clicking Top 5 Stats, then View more results (you must be signed in). From there you can view anything from the Top 5 to the Top 200 stats in all categories.
And if the stats are just noise to you, you can turn them off, too. Just click the Top 5 Stats link and select Turn of Top Stats.
Enjoy!

Makes life easier for me now I don’t have to press the link to see the latest posts, it’s just there for me to see. Yes I know I am sooo lazy.
Great new feature 😀
January 7, 2008 at 8:06 pm #162832PolarBearNPRParticipantw00t! Now I don’t have to click 3 or 4 times to see stuff I really want to see! Much more user-friendly; at least to this user 😉 But what will I do with my free time now? And will my index finger atrophy from lack of clicking?
j/k – this is an excellent upgrade for BBB.

January 8, 2008 at 2:14 am #162833PhilipModeratorJeff, great stats, man. Since you’re a tiger, I’d better give you some rep, and hopefully move you to the Millionaire’s Club (to quote Graham).
