I just recently started using a new layout on my blog, and I’m really happy with it, except for one thing. The main text in my posts is what concerns me. The line-spacing is hard to distinguish from the actual breaks between paragraphs, which makes everything look sloppy. Here is a snippet of CSS that correlates with the text:
p, .feedback {
color:#000000;
font-family: Verdana;
font-size: 0.75em;
line-height: 150%; /*letter-spacing: -1px;*/
}
When I change the line-height to something smaller, the individual paragraphs stand out better, but the text as a whole looks more squished. Inserting the letter-spacing as shown above makes everything even more squished, and even the text seems smaller too.
So basically, when I try to change some of the numbers to improve things, paragraphs stand out better but at the same time my text just looks more sloppy. Is this an illusion, or what? What can I do to make my layout look better?
(And as a sidenote.. wasn’t there a forum on BBB that was specifically for web development? Was it removed, or something?)
p, .feedback {

July 13, 2007 at 12:19 am #162775Jeff HesterKeymasterI love those kinds of problems!
July 13, 2007 at 3:48 am #162780AwesomeSauceParticipant🙂 You guys are the coolest. I knew Tigerblade would be posting here anyway, because he’s the kind of guy who could help you work out any kind of kinks in coding.
By the way, no one ever answered my other question. What happened to the web design forum?
July 13, 2007 at 11:56 am #162777TigerbladeParticipantshhh… we do not speak of it-we-do-not-speak-of.
nah… I dunno. Why did we get rid of it?
July 14, 2007 at 4:17 pm #162781SpikeMemberI ate it. Yum yum yum. 😀
July 16, 2007 at 6:10 pm #162782sarahtownyMemberThe power is getting to Spike’s head, just as long as he does not start eating the members we will be ok! Runs for the hills ………..
