Okay..I’m ABSOLUTELY sure I have the LATEST version of AIM.
When I try to invite someone in AIM to video chat, I get this message:
“An upgrade is needed for AOL Instant Messenger Live Video.
The upgrade will download the component, exit AIM, run the installer, then restart AIM.”
I downloaded the upgrade and stuff and then it gives me another error message that said something about already having the necessary components downloaded for video chat?
This is frustrating.
A few questions will help us solve your problem:
5.9.3702
Windows XP
I use a Creative Labs Webcam NX — and yes
I just bought this webcam today and it does not work. My previous webcam had the same problem. However, it USED to work.
I have exactly the same problem with AIM and the webcam. The webcam does work just fine with MSN. I have no idea what the problem is. Any help i welcome.
I have the same set-up and problem… has anyone heard from AIM on this?
I also cannot get AIM live video. I have AIM 6.5.4.16. I got a Microsoft LiveCam for Christmas from my son,(he got one for himself) and we both signed up for Windows Live Messenger. Works great between the two of us. However, most of my friends are on AIM. How do i get live video on AIM? Do I have the right version and is the video service free? (like Windows Live Messenger). Appreciate any help.
