-TrabJanuary 25, 2004 at 8:31 pm #50697TrabMemberthis came from the interview
“20. JBEST: Will it allow you to sign off AIM without the phone? The new AIM betas keep your screenname on if you just close the internet connection. The only way to sign off would be to sign off from the phone.”
anyone know anything? thanks
-TrabJanuary 25, 2004 at 8:37 pm #50690ChanellothParticipanthmm… i dont really think thats true i know if you lose your connection from like hitting the power button on you computer will keep you signed on for about 15 minsthe only way to know for surewould be to see for your self
January 25, 2004 at 8:43 pm #50689SathallrinMemberYou read that wrong.. It is talking about if you are signed onto AIM with a phone, and then sign on with a computer.
When you sign off the computer this way, you will stay online on the mobile.
*I believe* They were asking if there was a way to sign off mobile when disconnecting from AIM using otsego instead of having to then sign off with the phone.
January 25, 2004 at 8:45 pm #50695TrabMemberyeah, i wish someone (or even AIM) would make like an AIM answering machine…doorbot seems cool, but it doesn’t work if u cant tell ppl to use it… i guess if i learn a little more about AIM i cold take a crack at it…but it would take a long time and i’d need access to a server or something…sigh i’ll check it out later…
lemme know if anyone has anyideas…

P.s. anyone know where i can get Visual C++ for free? i used to have it but i formatted… if not i need to find SOME C++ compiler…thanksJanuary 25, 2004 at 8:48 pm #50688SathallrinMemberWhat you can do is go to IMforwards.com
And you can have it so your account gets signed on with their service when you are offline, and then all of your IMs can be forwarded to a mobile or an E-Mail address. You can then recieve all your offline messages in an email… Similar to an answering machine would be.January 25, 2004 at 8:53 pm #50687SathallrinMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by Trab

March 28, 2004 at 8:14 pm #50698Taylor722Memberyes, IMforwards.com definitly ROCKS. ai-buddy is stupid, dont use that…its way too complicated and you cant get all the good features until you pay for an upgraded account. I use IMforwards and all my messages are fowarded to my email account. I wish there were more websites like that out there!! I dont like it when I get kicked off after 3 or 4 days though lol I wanna be on for like a week! :-p
