Gentlemen:
My brother and I have frequently Video chatted with Windows Live Messenger, but since I installed Vista Home Premium on my grand-daughter’s computer along with an upgrade in webcam to logictech’s chat camera My side loads my video, but my brother’s video does not display.
Could anyone assist us in determining what is missing in-order to get this operation working
There have been several viewers, but so far no commentary. Is there any added info I should provide to enable anyone to resolve this matter for us?
regards,

I may call you Herman, right? Welcome to BBB. Could you kindly provide as much detail about your two PCs (like system specs, firewalls, antivirus, etc.), the version of WLM you’re using, your Logitech webcam model, have you installed the latest drivers for it, etc?
If you give us lots of details, including the problem itself (like maybe I’m not getting video but am able to receive audio) then it’s easier for us to help you out. Thanks in advance.

I downloaded the drivers from the Logitech site (which clearly said for Vista) but had consistant problems. I finally found some articles indicating Logitech cams don’t seem to play nice with Vista just now. I went and got a Miscrosoft Vista compatible cam and it installed like a charm and worked beautifully.
Sorry I can’t offer any solutions on how to fix the problem – but after several days of installing uninstalling and trying both the Vista standardly detected drivers and the Logitech drivers I was unsuccessful in getting the Logitech product to work with Vista. Good Luck!!

Thank you very much for the helpful info. So it seems that one should stick with Windows XP or use another make of webcam besides Logitech if using Vista. I would personally give Vista a miss for now because of teething problems; I have a Logitech QuickCam Chat and it works well with Windows XP.
