I have both windows messenger and msn 5.0.
I tried to uninstall the first one, it said it did, but the icon on the bottom right hand corner was still there.
I installed msn 5.0
I am running xp
Today I tried to launch logitech webcam, wich i have used before when i only had windows messenger and it works great (i have to mention this, it does not normally freezes image quality is the best and speed too).
Anyway, lets go to the problem when i launched it, it opened windows msn, but i dont allow automatic signs up (it remembers the password but it does not sign in without permission), soooooo for a moment it said it didnt find anybody, i opened windows msn and still didnt work, i closed completeli msn5.0 and finally it worked (as you an imagine, i was testing for a while, on and off and people went crazy).
I tried to leave 5.0 opened but the program always looks in windows msn not in 5.0, it always launches the windws msn, closing my messenger 5.0 and waiting until i open the other.
This makes sense…but how do i stop it?
How do i tell him to look for my contacts in 5.0 so it does not try to open the windows msn?
Or i cannot do that?
I tried to uninstall windows messenger but i already did!!! (which is funny), so it does not appear on my program list, but still runs (funny or what…)
BTW, at first i didnt know what was going on, so i tried with aol contacts, and it works with them, soooooo, it is just a msn widows.
Is not that it does not work, it does worrk, just that it is a pain …and i dont want to change my sign in settings…i dont like automatic signing in…
Well here is the problem, if you ever encountered this problem or you think you know how to solve it, tell me!!!
NG
I will appreciate your help very much indeed..

So if Logitech’s IM Video Companion prefers Windows Messenger (on XP, of course), then why not let it use that?
