MemberNot sure if anyone knows how to do the following, but if anyone does, any help would be much appreciated.

Does anyone know how to add/remove any files in there? What if I wanted to add a new imageready file or something else. Anywhere in my PC is there an area to remove/add objects there?
Is there also anyway to add files in there? I want to add Winamp in there, so when I want to listen to my music while browsing the internet I can just click the toolbar button. Also if I wanted to clickly go into Photoshop, I could click the it on the net browswer. Also, I used to be able to goto All Programs >
see all of my programs and let say, goto my GAMES folder, double click it and it would open. For some reason I cannot do that anymore, and I have to goto “explore all users” and open all of my folders that way. Anyway I can get it back to where I doubleclick? One last thing, sometimes when I am writing an email or replying in a forum, I will accidently hit “ESC” by accident and it will earse all that I wrote. It doesnt do it on my other computer, only my main one. Anyway to disable the “Esc” key or something?
Any help would be appreciated,
thanks!October 15, 2004 at 10:45 pm #36632Tigerblade
Participantfirst question, about the “new objects” menu… not sure exactly where that’s stored on the computer (i’ll find it later) but you can remove objects from there using Microsoft’s TweakUI powertoy. download, install, and run TweakUI, find the “Templates” screen, and its pretty easy after that. not sure about how to add stuff though, like I said i’ll try to find it later if its a folder or registry entry…
as for the toolbar options, I dont think you can add to it, but again i’ll do some digging.
as for your folders missing, i’d think that somehow your shortcuts got moved out of your particular user account and into the “all users” folder. go to My Computer and browse to “C:Documents and Settings[username]Start MenuPrograms” (where [username] is whatever user does have the right files) and find the shortcuts you’re missing…. copy and paste them into your own user folder… should work, but not being able to see the computer itself i’m not sure.
and I dont think you really wanna disable the escape key, just try to avoid hitting it. that’s basically what it does…. it escapes whatever you’re doing. just… dont hit it.
