Have anybody every thought of a guy waxing his face instead of shaving every day?
The way I see this as, is women have nice smooth legs if they wax. Now I want a smooth face but it’s time consuming to take 10 minutes out of my morning every day to shave. Then you still got stubble, which is very annoying, when the night comes in. If I could wax my face, it might take more time initially, but I could just do it on a Sunday when I have time. I have thought about it, it would hurt; I have had my eyebrows done before.
Any guys ever think about this, or does this put anything into your mind.
Girls – do you think this is a completely weird concept?
In Europe they do it. Then again they poop in pots.
By the way, I am a heterosexual by all means.
September 8, 2004 at 4:50 am #72805Jeff HesterKeymasterOuch! And weird.
Of course anything that we’re not used to sounds weird at first. The only problem I see (besides the pain and the mess) is that your hair has to be long enough for the wax to “grab” it.
Tell you what, why don’t you give it a try and let us know how it goes? :p

We do? Strange, I never noticed… Drop the pro-American nonsense, please?
September 8, 2004 at 6:24 am #72818ys8er2323Memberwell in case you didnt know, the hair thickness on your face is more than other places, so if you do wax your face you will be taking off a layer of skin, just like if you poured bioing water on urself

I’d say try it, and if you don’t like it, don’t do it again. Simple.
September 8, 2004 at 6:59 am #72815RabidKittenParticipant*tilt* …Europeans poop in pots?? Dear gods!
Wait a second…
*smack* …Christ. I swear, sometimes I have to wonder.
As for waxing your face, eh…right. I wont even wax my legs. If you’re really worried about it, Nair that crap. Or do that veet foam stuff. I hear it works *shrug* My biggest complaint about male facial hair is that it acts like velcro on my hair…meaning that I stick to them.
September 8, 2004 at 8:47 am #72812BrianMemberI am very straight, not gay!
I once have considered having my face waxed. My mother discouraged me from considering such – she said only girls do that, not men!
Nair and other brand name (I cannot remember what it is, it is the little white paste) are good, but they will burn your skin pretty bad if left longer. Shaving kits designed for women are pretty good, they’re not rough like the one for men. I only used women shaving kits twice when I ran out of shaving kits for men.
September 8, 2004 at 9:14 am #72823f0rbezMemberlol yeah thought of this before too. The only problem is that the hair on your face seems much more coarse and thick than leg hair or something. Seems like it would have a bigger root being ripped out of your face too.
That nair stuff kind of disturbs me the way the hair just whipes right off. -quivers-
I usually sport the rugged stubble on my face look. 😎 Doubt that I’ll be trying this any time soon, but just for fun someone try it. :p (Don’t hold me liable if you rip your face off)
September 8, 2004 at 4:43 pm #72814shifterMember10 minutes to shave? It takes me about 4 minutes every morning, you just need to speed things up. Here’s my routine:
-
• 30 seconds of splashing hot water on my face. (A damp hot cloth works too)
• 30 seconds of applying shaving cream.
• 2.5 minutes of shaving – 14 strokes with the grain and 14 strokes against the grain.
• 30 seconds of wiping off remaining shaving cream. You could always try an electric razor – I never found them very useful though unless I was trimming the old sideburns. I wouldn’t use that Nair crap anywhere near my face, and I definately would leave the waxing for the ladies. But hey, if you want extreme pain and/or facial rashing, go nuts. I’ll stick with the painless 4 minute shave every morning. 🙂
September 8, 2004 at 8:53 pm #72804Jeff HesterKeymasterAww man I hate shaving even though it doesn’t take long. I remember when I was 16 I wanted a go-tee too look older and mature and “cool” and now that I can grow one I don’t like it nor do I want to look older. It’s a pain shaving but I don’t know about all that waxing junk. I rather have facial hair than third degree burns around my mouth. Maybe if you don’t want to take long shaving try out a gillete mach 3 or something. That kinda made it less time consuming with me.
September 8, 2004 at 9:02 pm #72813BrianMemberIt doesn’t bother me having to shave every morning but sometimes it is pain in the butt. It takes about three to five minutes for me to finish shaving my face.
September 8, 2004 at 9:45 pm #72811tangledlisaMemberNot a completely weird concept but take my word for it.. it freaking hurts! I can barely stand having my eyebrows done every couple of months. If you DO even consider this – go have it done or ask a professional for advise. Last thing you need is an inexperienced person saying “Go for It”.
September 8, 2004 at 10:11 pm #72816RabidKittenParticipant*smirk* Listen to all the men complain about shaving. I can imagin how it would be sensitive and hard with those curves (unless you’re a square jawed little thing), but I simply have to point out the fact that you fellows have it easy. Have you ever tried to shave under your arms? That’s a concave area with a flat blade! *shudder* Legs aren’t that bad because they’re mostly just one swipe, unless you have that obnoxious definition crap that I have going on and have to pay special attention near your calves. But then there’s the worst shaving experience of them all…betwixt the legs. Talk about shaving a sensitive area…golly. Of course, you don’t have to do it daily, but the ingrown hairs are a pain after it grows again, and you have to wait for it to grow to a certain length before shaving again or it just gives you razor burn, and that is one place you -do not- want razor burn.
Anyway, whatever floats your boat. My dad uses the epil stop plus on his legs and he’s got really coarse hair there and it’s as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Electric razors are good, but the blades cost an arm and a leg and they’re bulky for travel. The mach 3’s are nice, I used one of those for the longest time becuase ladies razors are crap. The wax, I wont even let someone touch my legs with that stuff. *shrug* Like lisa said “Go for it”.
September 9, 2004 at 3:11 am #72807matttrenMemberI was thinking of using hot wax. As for ravors I have a German made Bruann electric shave, it works okay but it doesn’t get as close, then I use one of them electric mach 3’s that buzz. When I shave, I shave once with the grain, then a second against the grain to get closest as possible. I shaved around 7, and now it’s about 10 at night, and I got rough already. I hate this. I want my face as smooth as a baby. Anybody got any ideas on who to ask, where to ask, about this? That nair stuff scares me, it is a cold burn. I was looking into this thing called sugaring, or just buying hot wax. Some Italian girls I know wax their face. But yeah like Jeff pointed out, i’d have to let my hair grow in before I could wax it. So the wax could adhere to the skin. Anybody brave enough to make a pack with me to try this, if we get more details about it?

Yea I have a $120 Bruan eletric and it doesnt even work as good as a $5 razor blade.
