Well, I’ve been trying to download a few patches from http://www.mess.be, and I can’t seem to get anywhere. When I hit the Download File button, a new window opens containing the Mess.be homepage, with no download occurring. Anyone know what might be causing this? I have no pop-up blockers enabled, I run Norton Firewall, on EI 6, WinXP. I have emailed the site admins reporting this, no reply yet though. Thanks.
Hey dude.
Actually, some bunch of idiots attacked the MSN Messenger and MsgPlus community yesterday. They entered the IRC chat for Mess.be and took down site by site, also attacking each person in the chat, by giving off 250 PM killing their computer and internet connection.

Yah, I noticed it was down earlier – damn idiots – but I’ve had this problem for a few weeks, just never bothered to ask about it until now. Thanks though.
It doesn’t download on my work computer either. I tried downloading from mess.be with both IE 6 and Netscape 6.2, both with the same results outlined previously. 🙁
The MSN Messenger community sites have been hit yet again by service of denial.
These include:

http://www.itselephants.comBe forwarned to stay out of these sites IRC channels, especially mess.be’s. Spammers come in at about 300 at a time, and crash your computer at your finger tips.

Anyway back to my problem, which doesn’t seem to be related at all to those spammers (I wish it was then I would know what was wrong – keep us posted detn8r). Ok, I have tried again on a third computer and still the same problem. No download, just a new window containing mess.be. I can’t possibly be the only one with this problem. Still no reply from mess.be, likely too busy worrying about keeping the server up and running with all these damn attacks. Well, I’m not in a rush, so I hope they get that sorted and protected against these spammers, so we can all continue our messing and such.

today only i downloaded patch for 503 and it downloaded fine… i think the site is up again!!! just try it outNope, like I said, I don’t think the attacks have anything to do with this problem. I can usually find the patches elsewhere, but I would like to have the option of using Mess.be. I’ve had this problem for at least a month. I just never bothered trying to figure it out until now. The Mess.be site seems to be working fine except for this.
When I click the Download File button, It opens a new window and I can see it switching from the download link – In this case for JnrzLoader – http://www.mess.be/pafiledb/pafiledb.php?action=download&id=365 to just http://www.mess.be
I think this problem has something to with Dwergs use of Frames, and not allowing certain pages to be linked directly. For example :
JnrzLoader for MSN Messenger 6 – clicking this link will bring up the mess.be homepage instead of the Page containing the download. Which is exacly the same thing it does when I try to download.hey shifter

But, apparently, it’s back now, since many of my friends can load the page!!! Maybe those idiots blocked random IP addresses from the sites! I can only load about 2 of those sites that you posted which makes me suspicious. I haven’t had any problems with other sites than those either. Could someone contact Patchou about this because msgplus.net is the main site that I want to get to.

I get redirected to the mess.be home page everytime. Read what I posted earlier, it hasn’t changed. I get the home page whether I download through them or if try to direct link the file. Telling me to try it over and over again is not fixing the problem.
Thanks for the file offer coolguyj2, but as I said, I can usually find what I need elsewhere.
hey shifter the page I mentioned changes too fast…. I didnt notice it for the first time…. but next time I kept my eye on it and got a change of page so again I clicked the link (u posted) and pressed esc quickly and saw the notice… Hey this problem was with u in KaZaa also right…. I dont know, but something wrong with ur computer settings (I think so..) nways I think it will be alright
