I downloaded and installed Yahoo Messenger 7.5 with voice. I haven’t used it much yet, but so far it gave me a bad impression as it is acting so weird. I always sign-in to Yahoo Messanger as invisible especially when I am in my office and don’t want to be distracted. After signing in in few minutes, it changes my status to “available”. Does any body know what the problem could be? Thank you in advance
isn’t the new 7.5 a beta version? I have tried a few beta versions of different things and usually find a bug or two to report as this is why they set it up to be tested so these problems can be addressed. changes are it has nothing to do with you doing anything wrong but more a problem to report to yahoo messenger beta team so they are aware the problem is present so they can address it and repair it. I usually never try a beta program on my account I use on a daily bases and use one that has either no friends or a selected few for testing purposes this way no harm no foul. and when you do a beta test may be a good idea to let your friends know that your testing out something new and may not be on messenger for a while so they do not worry about your absence. good luck.
I’ve had similar problems when i tried out 7.5 beta. I guess its as williamlee said, prolly one of those common “beta” bugs.
Version 7 doesnt have that problem, so i just re-installed it.
If you don’t want to “downgrade”, i’d suggest you make a custom status message like “Do not disturb, i’m at work” or something like that. From my experience, the messenger kept those custom status messages, even when changing to visible.
If there is a way to fix that 7.5 issue, i’d be glad to hear about it 🙂
