MemberHey everyone. My yahoo msgr has been a pain lately. Sometimes I cant even go to chat through messenger and other times it lets me go but my text doesnt show up in the rooms. Plus I get booted every half an hour or so (not by a person as far as I know…i just get thrown out and have to restart msgr).
A friend of mine said that maybe I need to get Windows 2000 cause now I have Windows ME and he said its crap and he also said maybe theres a trojan in my system that cant be detected and the new Windows will get rid of it.
Since I dont know much about computers….do you think that installing the other Windows could help?
PS:I’ve tried uninstalling msgr and install again but it didnt; work grrrrr. The problems still remained with all the versions of msgr.March 3, 2004 at 4:52 pm #83734freddy
MemberWindows ME does have many many problems, but I don’t think it’s as easy to say yes, it’s deffinetely that.
Other programs can interferer with things loading, and low memory and high processes running can also cause numerous problems.
If you think you have a trojan, download an updated trojan remover. http://www.simplysup.com has one.
Windows doesn’t detect trojans, thats a flawed statement.

MemberJust sounds like yahell to me. We’re on chat more often than not (when we’re not working) and the other night it took us an hour (literally) to get into ANY chat room. You just have to keep piddling with it until it works. There’s even been times where we said f**k it and gave up on trying to enter chatrooms until the next day. There are days when it runs flawless and other days we “fall into yahell” as we put it (text disappears from the room) every 10 minutes.
We recently got a Dell (Dude! We got a Dell! lol) and we thought once we got our new machine set up that those problems would go away. They didn’t. We still have the same problems in the new machine that we did/do on the old machine.
I haven’t heard anything positive about ME so I wouldn’t be able to make any suggestions as far as an OS goes. We run 98 on one machine and XP Home Edition on the newer machine.
We all complain about yahell but it is a free service and I”m sure they do their best trying to keep up.
Hope I’ve been of help :=)March 3, 2004 at 10:49 pm #83736redrose
MemberThanks for your replies so far.
Freddy I went to that site and downloaded a trojan remover and apparently there aren’t any trojans in my PC. So thats not it. But thanks anyway. -
