I just downloaded the latest MSN messenger last night, and it was working perfect.I started it up again this morning and still nothing wrong. then I changed my profile pic twice. and on the second change it refused to actually change my pic. so I restarted.
From there I could not start MSN messanger again. It gives me the classic Windows error. “Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close.” with the option of sending of of those useless error reports.
I have un-installed, re-installed, deleted folders, and MSN cache, Deleted registry entries etc.
Is MSN ever gonna run on my machine again? I have not added any other software, nor have I made system changes since I installed MSN.
I run avast as my Virus program, and its up 2 date. My firewall is off, since im running through my company’s proxy.

Please use RevoUninstaller to uninstall WLM. When prompted use level 4 cleaning. After it has used the built in uninstaller, it will scan for all files, folders and registry entries and you should select them all and delete them. When it is done, please reboot your machine.
Then reinstall WLM again from the official download page.
Registry entries can hide in many places and there could be something missing or corrupted that you didn’t get cleaned out when you uninstalled last time. Let’s give this a shot and see if it works. If not, we’ll consider looking at other options.
