hello all,
i would like to ask about some news I just recieved. I just got a im saying Yahoo messenger was closing in August, to send to my group list to be added to a petition. Is this true? Has anyone else heard this?
Thanks for any answers or help
Sandy
Nope, completely untrue.
Shifter is right. Basically, if you get anything like that over IM, it is fairly safe to assume its a fake. Think about it, Yahoo! are an official, reputable company. If such things were to happen, think about how they would contact you: Most likely by email, and they’d probably put something up on the Yahoo! Messenger website.
Thanks for any answers or help

I keep getting those IMs a few months ago, and I haven’t been passing them around. But my account’s perfectly safe! The same goes with our friendster account… Anyway, MartineBradley’s right. If Yahoo! WERE to close, they’d be posting news at the website.
Yahoo! isn’t going to release that kind of information to anyone in my opinion… I think all the chain PM’s and e-mails are rubbish and should be seen as such. Everytime someone says yahoo is going to charge or shut down it never happens and I do not believe it is going to ever happen… without free chat yahoo loses millions of dollars in advertisement because so few people would still be on Yahoo!
Disreguard all rumors… they are only that.. rumors..
