Patchous Messenger Plus! 2.2 is out of beta and into production. This is the version that works with MSN Messenger 6, and adds a slew of new features. Theyve also modified the sponsorship program to make it more palatable, but remember that it is optional.
This version has a lot of bug fixes, and some subtle interface improvements. Here are a few of the new features that Im looking forward to:
- Rename your contacts so you wont have to guess who is who (especially useful for those who like to mess around with their name)
- /all command to send a message to everyone youre currently chatting with. This is great when you have to step away, and you want to let everyone know whats going on (besides just changing your status message).
- Plug-ins! Its yet to be seen what this will bring us, but yes, Messenger Plus (a plug-in itself) will allow developers to create plug-ins or extensions for Plus. I think this is the most interesting feature and look forward to what comes out of it.
Thanks to ladie_vennom for the heads up on the official release.
