MemberI just downloaded the new Messenger 7.0 beta and now my Messenger Plus! is gone. Can I fix it, or are they not compatible?

ParticipantOf course it’s compatible 🙂 The latest version of Messenger Plus is 3.51 and it works fine with Msn 7. You can download it here, install it, and let us know if it works then.

MemberNote that if you install a new version of messenger, your old version with plugins and ad-ons, etc. Will be over written. So naturally, a plug-in that you have had on a previous version will not work. 🙂
Hope thats of some help?April 14, 2005 at 3:19 am #114837kendra_marie08
Memberyeah it is, thanks!

MemberThat’s hardly correct, m3rcy.
The only thing that is removed are patches OR programs that require updates due to significant differences in code between versions.
The majority of the time, programs like Messenger Plus! will work with new updates.

ParticipantKendra_marie08, does it work now?

I stand corrected. Thanks. I don’t want to be missleading people. I’m not much of a IM person. Im going off other programs and in my experiences, this is normally the case.

MemberSadly, that is true. Most developers don’t look ahead at future compatibility with products they deal with. They usually just program to get it to work now and wait for a new problem to arise that they can fix for compatibility. Instead of safe-guarding against future incompatibility problems. I guess they have the mentality of “If it isn’t broken, why fix it?”.
